To all T.A.R.A.S Supporters,
We have received numerous inquiries regarding the current status of our nonprofit Society and the upcoming Spring Reptile Expo in Calgary.

In recent months, the society and its board have faced significant challenges. While we are currently unable to provide detailed commentary on these matters, the board made the difficult decision to cancel the spring show due to internal disagreements and a newly formed expo committee, which, unbeknownst to the full board of directors, included some individuals with no affiliation with TARAS and no active membership as our policies and insurance dictate as mandatory. TARAS intends to provide further information about this at a later date.

TARAS is not associated with a similar event that is taking place at the same time and same venue as our spring expo was planned for.

We emphasize that we are not affiliated with nor endorse the "HREF Spring Calgary Expo.” Additionally, memberships for our organization will not cross over to the new expo. Our board understands that this is frustrating news, and if your membership was purchased for the sole purpose of attending our expos, please reach out to [email protected], and we will do our best to do right by our society members.

Currently, we are actively collaborating with legal counsel to refine our bylaws and develop updated policies and procedures to chart a path forward and protect our organization's future financial stability and board governance. We remain committed to hosting our regular show in Calgary in the fall of 2024, as well as in 2025 and beyond. Over four decades, TARAS has been dedicated to promoting events, education, and collaborating with governmental bodies on conservation initiatives, having raised significant funds for these causes in Alberta. Our commitment to this legacy remains unwavering.
